Chevrolet Suburban Crashes Into Home

A Chevrolet Suburban crashed into the side of a house in Newport early Tuesday morning. Around 12:30am Tuesday, police were notified of a wreck involving a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban that had rammed into the side of a home at the intersection of Sequoyah & Seabrook streets. Police say it appears the driver of the Suburban was attempting to round the corner onto Sequoyah, when they left the road and crashed into the side of the home owned by Alice Atkins. No one was home at the time of the crash and the driver had left the scene on foot. There were no witnesses and police have been unable to identify the driver. They also have not been able to identify who actually owns the Chevy Suburban involved.
