Christmas Nights And Magical Lights In Downtown Newport

Tonight, it is Newport’s turn in the Christmas spotlight as the parade “Christmas Nights and Magical Lights” makes its way through downtown Newport tonight. The parade begins at Debbie’s Drive-In on Broadway at 6:30 tonight and will end at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church. This year is not only different because of the night parade, but also this year Lynn Ramsey and her crew at the Cocke County Partnership has worked with local downtown businesses to have a complete Christmas celebration. Many of the businesses in downtown Newport will be staying open later tonight with special sales for finding that perfect Christmas gift. Plus, many businesses will be supplying customers and parade goers with refreshments and surprises. The Cocke County Sheriff’s department will be supplying hot chocolate and candy for parade goers. Everything starts this afternoon at 4:00. So, make sure you make your way to downtown Newport this afternoon and get yourself into the Christmas spirit.
