Classes Resume In Hamblen Co School After Accident
Students went back to school in Russellville in Hamblen County yesterday. Students were forced into virtual learning classes last week after a truck drove into the school…literally. Last week a man suffered a medical episode, lost control of his truck and wound up crashing through the wall of Russellville Intermediate School and driving into the front office. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the man was driving on East Andrew Johnson Highway when he had the “medical issue” and drove off the road, up an embankment, through the property of the National Guard Armory, and then crashed into the front of the school building, doing significant damage. The school has made temporary repairs for classes to resume at the school. The front office is now operatinjg out of a classroom. No one was hurt in the incident and that is due to the fact the accident happened about an hour after school had been dismissed.
