Cocke Co. Sheriff’s Department Confirms Drowning

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office has confirmed that a man drowned last Thursday after he fell out of his tube on the Pigeon River. The drowning happened in the area known as “Pebble Beach,” an area of rocks where people can watch those on rafts float by. The man was part of a private party and was not a customer of any of the local rafting companies. The man’s identity has not yet been released, but witnesses say the man was NOT wearing a life jacket.
