Cocke County Deputies Respond To Hit & Run

Cocked County deputies responded to a hit and run accident involving three vehicles on Armory Road near Dean’s Bar. The fleeing vehicle was a gold Honda that was caught by police sitting in the middle of the road…the two female occupants were trying to exit the vehicle. They were instructed to remain inside but one, 46 year old Tanya Ramsey refused and was detained. A search of her purse yielded approximately 6 grams of a crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine with several individual baggies (consistent with illegal narcotics sales), plus approximately 7 grams of marijuana, and $182.00 in cash suspected to be proceeds from the sale of illegal narcotics. Ramsey was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II & IV narcotics. The driver of the vehicle, 47 year old Daphne Russell was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident.
