Cocke County Man Arrested For Assaulting 85 Year Old Mother

A Cocke County man was arrested over the weekend for elder abuse. Cocke County police were called to a home on Lower Bogard Road…85 year old Ima Murrell told police that her 60 year old son Eulas was drunk and had been arguing with her when he started throwing punches and at one point grabbed her by the arms as she was trying to defend herself. Before police arrived, a great grandson had bandaged the elderly woman’s arms. Deputies spoke with Eulas Murrell who could not give them a straight answer as to what happened, but just said he was “trying to control the 85 year old because she’s crazy”. Eulas Murrell was arrested and charged with domestic assault and abuse of an elder.
