Cocke County Man Indicted On Arson Charges

A Cocke County man is being charged with arson after investigators say he set his own house on fire to get the insurance money. Fire investigators say 65-year-old Jamey Scroggins intentionally set his own home on fire back in December, that home was located in the 100 block of Bybee Road. A Cocke County Grand Jury indicted Scroggins on two counts of arson and one count of insurance fraud. He was arrested on Wednesday and was booked in the Cocke County Jail. Bond was set at $2,500.
