Cocke County Sheriff Respond To Shots Fired

The Cocke County Sheriff’s office reported to a home on Askew Road in Parrottsville Monday night about shots being fired. At first, 43 year old Jimmy Kirkpatrick claimed that his neighbors fired a gun in his direction. He soon changed that story and stated that his neighbors were at the bottom of their driveway when he came out of his home carrying a shotgun and he fired two shots into the ground. He claims they pulled a handgun on him. 42 year old Paula Carter says that she and two teenage boys were at the bottom of their driveway working on a motorcycle when Kirkpatrick came out of his home and fired two shots from the shotgun…they thought the shots ere in their direction. She denied pulling a handgun on him. The only evidence of any shots being fired were from Kirkpatrick’s shotgun. No one was charged.
