Cocke County Sheriff’s Deputies Called To Hit And Run
Cocke County Sheriff’s deputies were called Thursday afternoon to a hit and run accident on I-40 near exit 432. Witnesses stated a white Chevy Malibu was involved and that vehicle and fled into the Carson Springs area. The vehicle was finally spotted on Johnson Street with three individuals unloading items from the Malibu and putting them into another vehicle. The three individuals were identified as 41 year old Christopher Knox, Sr., Christopher Knox, Jr. and Kristie Knox. they admitted to being in the hit and run car but it was a road rage incident where the other vehicle ran into them. The Malibu had damage to its front end.
Among the items Being moved from the Chevy Malibu was a .308 rifle and 79 rounds of ammunition. It was discovered by law enforcement that neither of the three individuals were allowed to be in possession of a firearm. Christopher Knox, Sr. finally admitted the rifle was his and he was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a weapon.
