Cosby Man Arrested With Meth

A man was arrested early Monday morning after he was found by a Cocke County deputy walking in the middle of Holt Town Road. 63 year old Freddie Hartsell of Cosby was walking in the middle of the road at around 4am Monday when the deputy spotted him. He told the deputy that he had been picked up by a female that lives on Highway 160, and was going to stay the night with her but left because she was “acting crazy”. Without being prompted, Hartsell told the deputy he had smoked meth 3 hours earlier. He was searched and was found to have a narcotics pipe in his pocket along with 6.1 grams of methamphetamine. Hartsell was arrested and charged with possession of schedule II and public intoxication.
