Couple Arrested For Shoplifting
A married couple were arrested over the weekend after they attempted to shoplift over $800 in merchandise. Loss prevention at Wal-Mart observed 37 year old Jessica Mock trying to push a shopping cart out of the Newport Wal-Mart that contained in part, two crossbows. Waiting for her in a car outside was her husband, 44 year old Carl Mock. Security footage showed the pair had removed security sensors form the crossbows and laid them on the paint counter next to the sporting goods area. Jessica Mock told police that they had also stolen from the Wal-Mart in Sevierville. However, a check by loss prevention at Wal-Mart found that the pair had also shoplifted from a Wal-Mart in Jefferson County and also in North Carolina. The two were arrested and charged with theft under $1,000, burglary and criminal conspiracy.
