Dalton Knecht Drafted 17th In NBA Draft
A former Tennessee Vol is headed west. Last night in the NBA Draft, former Vol and prolific scorer Dalton Knecht was taken with the 17th overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers. Knecht was the unanimous pick for SEC Player Of The Year for the 2023-24 season, and was the first SEC player since Shaquille O’Neal to score at least 35 points in consecutive games. Knecht is the highest draft pick from The Vols since Marcus Haislip went 13th to the Milwaukee Bucks in 2002.
Earlier in the draft last night, the Memphis Grizzlies selected Purdue center Zach Eady with the 9th overall pick in the NBA Draft. The Grizzlies need a big man in the middle and hope that Eady can be the solution to that problem.
