Dandridge Man Arrested for Felony Obstruction From January 6, 2021

A Dandridge man has been arrested on federal charges relating to the incident at the US Capital building on January 6, 2021. The United States Justice Department announced that 51 year old Bart Gore was arrested Tuesday and is being charged with felony obstruction of an official proceeding and misdemeanor entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, along with other unnamed charges. The DOJ claims that Gore entered the capital building on January 6th along with others who were protesting the 2020 presidential election results.

The DOJ says they obtained messages that Gore had sent about going to the capital and among other things making threats against Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton threatening to “strip them naked and beat them with a switch”. Gore also stated on social media he was bringing a rifle to the event. The FBI is still investigating this case.
