Date Is Set For The Return Of Newport Speedway
Get ready for some racing! The Newport Speedway is going to roar to life after nearly 10 years this July. Chuck Ward purchased the speedway which had fallen into bad shape, and has been working on renovating the once popular local track. We now have a date for the first race.
The Southeast Super Trucks series will race at Newport Speedway for its reopening on Saturday, July 13. The truck series was originally supposed to race at the Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC, but recent storms have done damage to that facility, so the race had to be moved to a new location and according to Southeast Super Trucks, Chuck Ward and his crew saved the day with the reopening of the Newport Speedway. General admission seating will cost $15 for adults, $10 for seniors over 60 and children 12 and under get in free with an adult.
More information and updates on the race can be found on the website www.southeastsupertrucks.com.
