Death Of Woman Ruled An Accident

The death of a woman in December in a car fire in Greeneville has been ruled an accident. Officials with the Eastside Baptist Church chowed police video showing 56 year old Kay Peterson driving into their parking lot on December 20, 2022 and colliding with the church’s nativity scene before hitting the corner of the building before the vehicle caught on fire. An investigation showed that Peterson’s vehicle got caught on a pile of dry hay from the nativity scene. The hay ignited from the heat of the car, which burned the car with Peterson’s body inside. A grand jury was presented with the evidence this week and ruled Peterson’s death to be accidental. No one will be charged in her death.
