Del Rio Man Indicted For Murder
The Grand Jury has indicted a Del Rio man for shooting and killing his neighbor back in September. The Grand Jury returned a 12 count indictment this week against James Dennard Raspberry in the shooting death of 35 year old Joseph Carter of Del Rio. According to prosecutors, On September 13th, around 5pm, Joseph Carter was sitting in a van in his driveway with his two daughters when Raspberry approached the van and shot Carter…killing him in front of his two children. The oldest girl ran back to the house, but the 10 month old daughter was still strapped in her carseat in the van with her deceased father. The Grand Jury indictment is for charges including first degree murder, felony murder, one count of reckless endangerment, three counts of aggravated assault and six counts of especially aggravated kidnapping. James Raspberry is set to be arraigned on those charges February 22.
