Del Rio Woman Shot By Her Husband On Front Porch

A Del Rio woman was shot last night while she and her husband struggled with a shotgun. According to police, Hannah Mansfield of Del Rio and her husband Justin Mansfield had gotten into an argument and he told her to leave the house. Hannah’s mother Abigail Templin told officers she and her husband drove out to the Mansfield home on Blue Mill road in Del Rio after receiving a call from Hannah. When they arrived, they found Justin Mansfield with a shotgun and he told them in certain words to leave his property. Eddie Templin, Hannah’s father was able to get the gun away from Mansfield who then got it back and fired a shot into the ground to get Hannah’s parents to leave. While they were starting to leave, Justin Mansfield raised the shotgun to shoot, but Hannah Mansfield grabbed the shotgun to prevent that, and during a struggle over the shotgun, it discharged shooting Hannah Mansfield in the abdomen. An ambulance had to be called from Madison County NC, as Newport EMS was at level zero. Hannah Mansfield was airlifted to an undisclosed medical center. Her condition is not known at this time. Justin Mansfield was arrested and is currently charged with aggravated assault.
