Disabled Motorist Leads To Drug Arrest
A call about a disabled motorist wound up in the arrest of a man on drug charges. Cocke County police were called about a vehicle sitting in the middle of the road on Bluff Road earlier this week. Eric Taylor told the deputy he had run out of gas and had someone going to get some. The plates on Taylor’s Honda CR-V were from North Carolina but matched a Chevrolet Astro Van. Taylor smelled of marijuana and a search of that vehicle revealed 14 grams of marijuana in the vehicle’s center console, along with another bag that contained a brown powder. That brown powder was 12 grams of Psybicilin mushrooms…a hallucinogenic. Taylor was charged with possession of schedule VI and possession with intent to sell schedule I narcotics.
