Dollar General Robber Arrested In Kansas

Thanks to Facebook and fellow law enforcement agencies, the man who robbed a Dollar General in Newport is under arrest. Earlier this month, a man robbed the Dollar General on old Hwy 411. The man’s picture was posted on facebook by the Cocke County Sheriff’s office…and users helped identify the suspect as 36 year old Andrew Joseph Boan. Last Monday the Cocke County Circuit Court with that information indicted Boan on charges of Aggravated Robbery, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Theft Under $1,000, Shoplifting, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

On Sunday, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and Kansas Highway Patrol, Andrew Joseph Boan was taken into custody in Phillips County, Kansas. He is facing local charges in Kansas and will be extradited for the charges here in Tennessee but also will face charges in South Carolina, and in Federal Court.
