Early Voting Ends…Just Under 4,000 Vote Early
Early voting has now ended. According to Joswh Blanchard at the Cocke County Election Commission office during the 15 days of early voting, 3,953 registered voters cast their votes early. That number is just under the 3,976 that voted early in July.
Tuesday is election day and if you did not vote early you will need to cast your vote at your local polling precinct. If you are not sure where your local precinct is, you can find your polling place at govoteTN.gov. You can also call the election commission office at 623-2042. Cocke County registered voters who need to update their current Cocke County address can call the election commission office today or Monday to get your address changed and to find out where your correct polling place is located.
If you requested an absentee ballot, those need to be received by the election commission office by election day on Tuesday. So far, 201 absentee ballots have been turned in to the Cocke County election commission. The election on Tuesday is for the State and Federal General Election, the City of Newport and Parrottsville election, and it is also the Run-Off Election for County District 3 for Post 2 on the CLB. Polls are open from 9am-8pm Tuesday. If you are in line at 8pm, you are will be allowed to vote.
