Emergency Mart Now Open In Cocke County For Flood Victims
The site in the parking lot of the old Ingles behind Krystal has been the main distribution center for bottled water in the area. That has now changed. Yesterday was the last day for bottled water to be picked up at that site. That is because the old Ingle’s store has been turned into an Emergency Mart where those affected by the flooding can get food. County Mayor Rob Mathis says to be eligible to go to the E-Mart you will need a special card. To start that process, you’ll to visit the Discovery Recovery Center…

Now at the E-Mart you will be able to get things like non-perishible food items, toiletries, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, baby formula and diapers, paper plates and plastic utensils, plus pet food and pet supplies.
Bottled water is still available at churches and those pod locations. County Mayor Rob Mathis says the county has pallets of bottled water in storage, but they had more they did not have room for, so that water is being shipped to the Bristol Motor Speedway, which is the main bottled water distribution center for their East Tennessee region. But, Mayor Mathis reiterated that this area has enough bottled water in storage to meet the needs of this area.
