Failure To Stop Leads To Arrest

Newport police pulled over a vehicle Friday that failed to stop at a stoplight at the intersection of Douglas and West Broadway. The driver, Anna Felty was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana. Her passenger was 53 year old Charles Adams who was wanted in Cocke County on charges stemming from an indictment regarding the sale of methamphetamine . At the jail, Adams was found to be in possession of over 2 ounces of meth he was trying to dispose of. Adams now faces additional charges of sale and delivery of methamphetamine and introduction of contraband into a penal facility
