Fire Shuts Down Hwy 25E
If you were driving on Hwy 25E just across the Jefferson County line over the weekend and were forced to turn around because the highway was closed, the reason was for a huge fire. A 4500 square foot metal garage had caught fire Saturday and was 80% engulfed in flames by the time that firefighters arrived. US Hwy 25E had to be closed so that fire crews could access a fire hydrant to fight that huge fire. Fifteen fire departments responded to that fire. They included the Cocke County Fire Department plus the Cosby, Parrottsville and Centerview Volunteer Fire Departments.
