Flooding Causes Road Closures In Gatlinburg
Heavy rains caused numerous road closures in Sevier County Tuesday. Several roads in the city of Gatlinburg were closed including River Road and Greystone Heights, near the Aquarium.
Nearly 4″ of rain fell Tuesday morning in the Gatlinburg area. Those heavy rains caused water to come across several roads in the Cosby area. One woman called 911 asking for help to get out of her home on Lindsay Gap Road that was surrounded by flood waters.
Before the rains, we had strong winds in the area. Cove Mountain in Sevier County measured one wind gust Tuesday morning at 94mph. Camp Creek in Greene County registered a wind gust of 77mph.
