Four Arrested After Labor Day Weekend Fight

The Quality Inn on Cosby Hwy in Newport was the site of a melee between 4 males subjects over the Labor Day weekend. A fight had broken out between the manager of the Quality Inn…57 year old Hitendrakumar Patel and other individuals identified as 36 year old Bradley Greus, 52 year old Richard Sharpe and 18 year old Alan Yonker. Witnesses told police at one point during the fight, Mr. Patel got in his vehicle and attempted to run over two of the other men. One man, identified as Robert Clevenger was found lying in a ditch with injuries. Clevenger was transported to the Newport Medical Center where he later told police he had heard the fight outside and went out to try to intervene. That is when he was punched in the face and fell to the ground hitting his head. Clevenger stated that the next thing he knew, he was standing up but was hit again and fell, eventually landing in a ditch. Arrested were Patel for assault and Greus for aggravated assault. Richard Sharpe and Alan Yonker were charged with disorderly conduct.
