Gas Prices Closing In On $3 A Gallon
You have probably noticed that gas prices have been steadily creeping up over the past couple weeks. In fact, those rising prices has seen the average price in Tennessee top $# a gallon. According to the AAA, the average price in Tennessee is now $3.08 a gallon. That’s still far below the national average of $3.40.
In Cocke County, as of this morning we are still averaging under $3 a gallon…but barely. As of this morning the average price for a gallon of gas in Cocke County is $2.98. Greene County is at $2.97. Hamblen County is at $2.95. The cheapest gas prices in this area are in Jefferson County with a average of $2.91. The highest prices are in Sevier County now. The average price there is $3.05. That pales in comparison to Washington County. They’re average price is $3.19.
The lowest gas prices are in Henry County at $2.87. The highest…Williamson County at $3.27.
Texas and Mississippi have the lowest average price as they are the only states under $3 a gallon at $2.94. The highest…California…at $4.87.
