Gas Prices On The Rise
If you have driven up to the gas pump in the last couple days, you have gotten a shock. Gas prices in Newport have jumped up 20-25 cents in just the last few days. It’s not just here though, AAA says that prices for gas in the state of Tennessee have gone up at least 10 cents this week. The good news is that Cocke County’s gas prices are a little below average, but the bad news is that state average gasoline cost is now sitting at $3.32 a gallon. That’s still better than the national average which as of this morning is $3.68.
Average price in Cocke County this morning is $3.20, that’s the same in Sevier County. Greene County is $3.19. Hamblen County is the cheapest in the area at $3.18, and Jefferson County is the highest at $3.25. The cheapest price we could find in the area was Hawkins County with an average of $3.10. The highest gas price in the state is in Williamson County in middle Tennessee…$3.66.
