Gatlinburg PD Adds Two New K-9 Officers
The City of Gatlinburg has two new additions to their police force. This week the police department introduced K-9 officers Dolly and Gill. Dolly is a Labrador Retriever trained to find illegal narcotics and also can help in finding missing persons. Gill is a shorthaired German Pointer. He is an explosives detection dog and is the first such dog the Gatlinburg Police Department has ever had. Gatlinburg Chief of Police and Newport native Ronnie Barrett says Dolly and Gill will help further protect those who live and work in Gatlinburg.
