Gatlinburg To Smoke Sewer System
If you work in Gatlinburg, you might start seeing smoke. The reason, the city of Gatlinburg is smoking their sewer system. Starting today, contractors will begin smoke testing the city’s sewer system between the hours of 8 am and 5pm. Smoke is pumped into the sewer system to check for cracks and leaks. The testing will begin in the Ski Mountain area and will later expand to others as the project continues. During the tests, smoke may be seen coming from building vent stacks as well as holes in the ground. However, it should not enter any homes unless there are defects in the plumbing system or dry drain traps. The city states the smoke is nontoxic, non-staining, and harmless to people, pets, food.
