Grainger County Man Charged In School Incident

More information has been released about that man in Grainger County arrested for riding on a school bus. A Grainger County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the main office at Grainger County High School in Rutledge on Tuesday…the deputy spoke to 29 year old Juan Purkey, who told him he had ridden a school bus to the school. The investigation showed that Purkey made his way to the cafeteria and was taken to the office at 8 a.m. where the deputy found him. Turns out this was not the first incident of Purkey at that school…On August 2, Purkey was informed by a deputy, and an assistant principal at the school to not be on school property since he wasn’t a student. He was also told that if he came to the school he would be charged with criminal trespass. He has been charged with criminal aggravated trespassing. The Grainger County High school was placed on a soft lockdown while that incident was playing out on Tuesday.
