Greene County Skeletal Remains Identified
The skeletal remains found near exit 23 off I-81 in the Mohawk area of Greene County last week have been identified as those of a man who has been missing for nearly five years. A hunter had found a human skull in the area on October 17th in a wooded area. Deputies found more remains during a search of the area. The remains had been sent to the William L. Jenkins Forensics Center in Johnson City. The Forensics Center notified the Greene County Sheriff’s office this week that the remains are those of 44 year old Homer Marshall Ricker who had last been seen on December 23, 2018 walking along Mohawk Ridge Road in the Bulls Gap/Mohawk area. His family had reported him missing in February of 2019. The sheriff’s office says that foul play is not suspected in his death.
