Ground Broke On The Nation’s Largest Birds Of Prey Rehabilitation Center
When you go to Dollywood and head up past Craftsman’s Valley…you can’t help but hear the eagles calling. Dollywood is the current main site for the American Eagle Federation’s rehabilitation project. That is about to change. Through generous donations, the foundation has acquired a plot of land in Kodak where they broke ground yesterday on what is being touted as the largest rehabilitation center for bird of prey in the United States. When completed the rehab hospital will be able to serve thousands of birds of prey. The headquarters will be seven miles from the 7 Island Birding Park and will span over 57 acres….and will allow the American Eagle Foundation to have the space and resources to host educational events and workshops. The facility is being built at a cost of $500,000 and is set to open in September 2022.
