Cocke County Communities Gear Up for Spooky Halloween Fun
As October comes to a close, communities across Cocke County are preparing for a full slate of Halloween festivities for families, kids, and ghouls of all ages. From trunk-or-treats to costume contests, there’s something spooky and sweet happening in nearly every corner of the county.
Del Rio Halloween Party – October 25
The Halloween celebrations kick off in Del Rio with a community party hosted by the Culture and Preservation Society of Del Rio, TN. The event will take place this evening, from 5 to 7 p.m. at 181 S. Highway 107. Families can enjoy trunk-or-treating, games, popcorn, and a hot dog dinner—all for free. It’s a perfect way to get an early start on Halloween weekend.
Downtown Boo Bash – October 28
Next up is the annual Downtown Boo Bash, set for Tuesday, October 28, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cocke County Courthouse in downtown Newport. Sponsored by the City of Newport, Cocke County Government, and Newport Main Street, this festive event will feature music, games, bounce houses, and a costume contest for ages 0 to 13. Local businesses and organizations will line Main Street for a massive trunk-or-treat, ensuring plenty of candy for everyone. Organizers invite families to “come downtown and have a spooky good time with family and friends!”
Trick or Treat at the Track – October 31
Halloween night will bring more fun to the Newport City Park for the 28th annual “Trick or Treat at the Track”, happening on Halloween night, from 6 to 8 p.m. Hosted by Newport Parks & Recreation, the event will be held at 220 Smith Street. Vendors and local groups will be on hand for an evening of safe trick-or-treating.
Parrottsville Trick or Treat at the Park – November 1
Rounding out the week of festivities, the Town of Parrottsville will host its own Trick or Treat at the Park on Saturday, November 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Parrottsville Park. The family-friendly event will feature candy, costumes, and community fun. Businesses or individuals interested in setting up are encouraged to contact the town.
From Del Rio to Parrottsville, Cocke County is making sure Halloween 2025 is packed with frightful fun and sweet treats. Families can mark their calendars for these community gatherings and enjoy a week of safe, festive Halloween celebrations.
