Hamblen County Narcotics Officers Seize Cash and Pills
The narcotics unit with the Hamblen County Sheriff’s office seized a significant amount of cash during a drug bust on this week. According to Hamblen County Sheriff Chad Mullins, the narcotics division served a search warrant at the home of a 63 year old woman on Old Russelville Pike. This after an investigation into the drug activities of Betty Sue Johnson and 61 year old Donald Rickard. Officers seized opioid pills with a street value of over $30,000…including Oxycodone, Clonazepam and Suboxone. They also seized $100,574 in cash.
Betty Sue Johnson is charged with Possession of Sch. II and IV narcotics for resale; maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold; possession of Sch. III narcotics.
Donald Rickard is charged with Possession of Sch. II narcotics for resale; maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold.
45 year old Crystal Grooms, who was at the home when officers arrived is also being charged with possession of Sch. III and drug paraphernalia.
