Harshbarger Calls Out National Archivist
U.S. Representative Diana Harshbarger has joined a list of 40 other house republicans calling out the director of the national Archives for putting content warnings on the documents stored there. The outrage stems from The National Archives and Records Administration recently adding a “harmful content warning” to its website. The warning appears on each of the millions of pages in the permanent records of the U.S. government….including the nation’s founding documents. A statement from the National Archives said some materials in its catalog show violent and graphic events or use outdated and offensive language. Those 40 house republicans sent a letter to David Ferriero, who is the archivist of the United States demanding the removal of those content warnings from those documents. Harshbarger tweeted out her displeasure on Wednesday stating “The National Archives & Records Administration has labeled the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights as “harmful content.”…she calls it Disgraceful.
