Heavy Rain At Dollywood
Some heavy rain fell over parts of East Tennessee Sunday evening. Cocke County saw some of that heavy rain with a half an inch of rain falling in about 15 minutes. Most of Cocke County saw at least an inch of rain Sunday evening.
In Sevier County there was flash flooding in the Dollywood area. One person suffered a minor injury during that flooding at the Dollywood Theme Park Sunday evening. Some vehicles were also flooded due to the heavy rains. Some roads continue to be closed in Sevier County this morning. Some of them are in the Dollywood area, like McCarter Hollow Road where part of that road collapsed Sunday night due to the flash flooding. Dollywood did not suffer any damage, but waqs left with a lot of cleanup after the rain. Dollywood will be open today (Monday) at noon.
More rain is in our forecast for Monday and Tuesday with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms on Monday and a 70% chance on Tuesday. Those chances fall to 50% by Wednesday, July 31.
