Hillbilly’s Barbecue Victim Of Break-In
Police are investigating the break-in at a local barbecue restaurant that happened over the weekend. On Sunday morning, police responded to a break in at Hillbilly’s Barbecue on west Broadway in Newport. Owner John Scheel arrived on scene and pulled up security video footage of two male subjects breaking into the building. The two male subjects then stole $1200 in cash from the register, $385 worth of meat, a $600 craftsman tool set, and a $3000 DJI Drone. total loss for the restaurant break-in was $5,185.00.
Police do have a suspect, as one of the two subjects on the video dropped a backpack at the side of the building. Inside the backpack was a tag that was registered to Stephen Jones and a Walter State Degree that had Stephen Jones’ name on it. No arrests have been made in that case.
