HSCO Corrections Officer Caught Bringing Drugs Into Jail
A man who works in the Hamblen County jail is seeing the jail from a different perspective…that of an inmate. Hamblen County Sheriff Chad Mullins says that Michael Gibson, who has worked in the jail for the last six months, was caught with drugs in his possession when he started his shift on Tuesday, August 20. Mullins says that Gibson was found with Heroin, suboxone strips, and other pills. Mullins says they have been watching Gibson after getting a tip. Mullins says the department holds their employees to a high standard and that they work hard to keep drugs out of the jail, so it is a big disappointment for one of their own to be bringing drugs into the jail.
Michael Gibson is charged with possession of Schedule I narcotics for resale, possession of Schedule III narcotics for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
