Jackson Selected Fourth In WMBA Draft
The WNBA Draft was held last night in New York City. It was not long before the name of a Tennessee Lady Vol was called. Rickea Jackson was the 4th overall draft pick last night as the Los Angeles Sparks made Jackson was of the top 5 picks of that draft. Rickea Jackson’s selection means the Lady Vols have had a player drafted in the first round of the WNBA Draft for four straight years. She is the highest player selected from Tennessee since the 2018 draft when Diamond DeShields was selected third in 2018 by Chicago. The Lady Vols have now had 46 players overall selected in the draft.
Rickea Jackson joins a Sparks team that includes former Lady Vol Rae Buerrell who was drafted by LA two years ago.
