Jake Thomas Connector Opens

As we head into the busy tourism season, a road is opening that will ease some traffic congestion. The Jake Thomas Connector links the Parkway in Pigeon Forge with Veterans Boulevard, giving easier access to those on the Parkway to get to Dollywood. It also gives easier access to the Parkway and its shopping and dining destinations. The Connector should help alleviate some traffic on the Parkway. Construction began on the two mile roadway back in 2022. It was due to be completed in May of this year, but is opening ahead of schedule. TDOT says the Jake Thomas Connector will be open to traffic at noon, Thursday March 28.. The road is a five lanes with two lanes in each direction and a center turning lane. TDOT says the views from the Jake Thomas Connector are a site to see.
