Jake Thomas Connector To Open Soon
A road that has been under construction in Sevier County for the last two years is nearing completion, just in time for the busy holiday season. The Jake Thomas Connector in Pigeon Forge is ahead of schedule and will be opening sooner than expected. Blalock Construction says they had a deadline of May 2004 to complete the two mile stretch of road, however things have gone well and they expect to hand over the Jake Thomas Connector to the city of Pigeon Forge sometime in December. The Jake Thomas Connector will be a five lane road that when opened will run from its current form from the Parkway to Teaster Lane and then continue two miles out to Veterans Parkway near the entrance to Dollywood. That means the Parkway will have a direct link with Dollywood and Dollywood to various destinations on the Parkway. This will alleviate a lot of traffic on Veterans Parkway.
