Jefferson Co Deputy Injured In Weekend Police Pursuit
A Jefferson County deputy sustained injuries when a suspect he was helping pursue rammed his police cruiser. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office assisting the White Pine Police Department in the pursuit of a stolen vehicle. The driver of the stolen Dodge Ram pickup, which was on fire, began ramming the police cruiser on Interstate 40 near the 408 mile marker. 29-year-old Zachary T. Arnold and 30-year-old Courtlyn S. Collier were taken into custody. Arnold, the driver, faces several felony charges including weapon and drug charges. The deputy was transported to Jefferson Memorial Hospital ER where he was treated and released. Traffic was back up on I-40 west for a time Saturday afternoon while that scene was cleared.
