Jefferson Co Man Sets Own Truck On Fire

A Jefferson City man was arrested on Sunday, after he set his own truck on fire. This happened at a Marathon station on Hwy 11E near the Hamblen/Jefferson County line.

After interviewing witnesses and viewing video footage of the incident, police say that 61 year old Randy Allen Hodge of Talbott pumped gas into the bed of his pickup truck and appears to have intentionally ignited the fuel. The driver then pulled away from the fuel pumps, with flames coming out of the truck bed. A bystander was able to extinguished the flames. Police say that Hodge became belligerent with those trying to help him. Hodge was arrested and charged with aggravated arson.
