Man Accused Of Killing Cocke County Woman In Custody
The man accused of shooting and killing a Cocke County woman is now in custody. 44 year old Jason Dockery had led police on a manhunt that crossed state lines. Law enforcement say Dockery shot 38 year old Shysti Mayberry several times Tuesday afternoon after she got out of his car in Anderson County. Dockery then led police on a chase that spanned across Anderson, Union and Claiborne counties in Tennessee and Lee County Virginia. Thursday, Union County deputies spotted Dockery walking along Maynardville Pike in the southern part of the county. Deputies say that Dockery surrendered and was taken into custody without incident. Dockery was also wanted for violation of probation in Sevier County as well as several charges in Claiborne County. The family of Shysti Mayberry say that she and Dockery had not known each other for long. Details as to what led to the Dockery shooting Mayberry have not been released.
