Man Arrested After Disturbance At Burger King
A Man was arrested in Newport Monday after he caused a disturbance at Burger King on Cosby Hwy. An employee of Burger King told officers that a white male with a black shirt had thrown a drink at her and poured another drink out in the floor. The man then fled when police were called. Officers spotted the male subject in front of the Family Inn Motel on Cosby Hwy. Officers attempted to speak with the man who was identified as 39 year old Jason York. But, York then took off running from officers toward the Bi-Lo Store. Officers caught up to York again, who then became aggressive towards officers who were able tp subdue him and place him in handcuffs in the patrol car. York though was somehow able to get the door open to the patrol car and flee. Police finally located him behind Cracker Barrel where he was once again apprehended. York is charged with Disorderly Conduct for the episode at Burger King. Plus he faces additional charges of Resisting Arrest and Escape.
