Man Arrested After Tearing Hartford Man’s Kitchen Apart
A Hartford man called for law enforcement to come to his home Thursday morning, as another man was destroying the inside of his home. Jerry Frisbee told the Cocke County Sheriff’s office that he had let a man named Chaz Evans stay the night in his home, but Frisbee says he woke up Thursday morning and Evans was tearing the kitchen of his home apart. Frisbee says that Evans told him not to go outside as there were people outside that would kill him.
Deputies arrived and found kitchen chairs and a toaster lying out in the backyard. Inside, the kitchen table appeared to have been cut with a knife causing damage to the other kitchen chairs that were still in the home. Those chairs were also damaged from being thrown around the kitchen. One of the kitchen cabinet doors was broken off. There was food and other items strewn throughout the kitchen area. Frisbee also showed deputies the back door of the home would no longer close and one of the kitchen windows was busted out.
Deputies were able to get Chaz Evans into custody and they found a small amount of methamphetamine in his possession. The 32 year old Hartford man is charged with vandalism.
