Man Arrested For Domestic Assault

A Newport man was taken into police custody over the weekend after he assaulted his wife and locked her in a shed. Dalana Talley was found by police in a shed behind her home. She told an officer that she and her husband, Leslie Talley had gotten into a verbal argument when he grabbed her, threw her down and then closed her up in the shed. She told police that Leslie Talley then told her the only way she was “getting out of there was in a body bag”. Leslie Talley admitted to locking his wife in the shed and saying that, but told police he didn’t mean it. Ms. Talley was transported to the Newport Medical Center for injuries. Mr. Talley was taken to jail, charged with domestic assault and false imprisonment.
