Man Arrested For Domestic Assault Against Son-In-Law

Tuesday evening police responded to a domestic assault incident. Cocke County was advised of a man being in a vehicle being chased down Hwy 160 by someone in a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Newport officers pulled over both vehicles close to the bridge on north Hwy 321. Tony Adams told deputies that he arrived at his home on Wynn Way and found his father-in-law William Holloway blocking his driveway and armed with what he thought was a metal pipe. Williams then chased Adams off the property. Williams told officers he was “just going to give Adams an attitude adjustment”. A search of Williams’ truck did not reveal a metal pipe, but a cut off axe handle. William Holloway was taken into custody charged with aggravated domestic assault.
