Man Arrested For Domestic Assault In Hartford

Over the weekend, Cocke County deputies responded to a home on Hartford Rd. A neighbor called police to report a woman was being assaulted. A neighbor told deputies that her son had witnessed a man slapping his girlfriend on the front porch of the home. She and her son had yelled at the man to stop, but he dragged the girlfriend into the house. The girlfriend was identified as Christian Scheffers who had yelled for the neighbors to call police. At first deputies could not get a response from inside the home. A PA system was used to call into the house and both Scheffers and her boyfriend Dominique Raines came out of the house. Scheffers at first said no assault had taken place, but deputies clearly noticed scratches and marks on her chest and neck. Raines stated that the marks on her neck were “hickeys”. He was arrested…charged with domestic assault.
