Man Arrested For Reckless Driving In School zone
A 22 year old man was arrested this week for reckless driving in a school zone. A School Resource Officer at Cocke County High School had watched the driver of a black Dodge Charger do a “burn out” in the 3 Rovers Learning Center and on Hedrick Dr., which is within the school zone. That vehicle then headed towards Cosby Hwy. A Cocke County deputy then spotted that vehicle pulling out of the McDonald’s parking lot doing burn outs on Cosby Hwy and driving in a reckless manner. The vehicle was pulled over on Interstate 40 with the driver Isaac Williamson of Newport telling the deputy that he “made a stupid mistake”.
Williamson was charged with reckless driving. An inventory of his Dodge Charger revealed a bottle of Xanax and a Glock 48 9mm pistol with a loaded magazine.
